The Jumpstart Play to Lead Summit in 2023 was a two-day event designed to empower young female athletes and coaches by providing them with the tools and inspiration to become leaders in sports. The summit included a mix of workshops, inspiring keynote speakers, mentorship sessions, and a glam station. A key aspect was to foster a sense of community, with activities tailored to inspire confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. The event also included curated gifts and merchandise to enhance the experience, and a photographer was hired to capture the highlights. The overall goal was to create a memorable, educational experience that would leave lasting impacts on both the girls and their coaches.
Responsibilities included managing the logistics and coordination of contractors for the two-day event, including securing catering, makeup artists for the “glam” portion, and organizing furniture and other necessary assets. The role also involved sourcing and purchasing event merchandise and gifts, while staying within budget constraints and working with third-party vendors. Additionally, there was a focus on recruiting and vetting speakers and presenters for the summit workshops, ensuring they were aligned with the event’s goals of inspiring and empowering young girls. On the event days, responsibilities expanded to managing the contractors on-site and troubleshooting any issues that arose, ensuring the event ran smoothly. To further elevate the experience, a photographer was arranged to capture memories with the girls, creating a special moment for the last day of the summit.
